Be honest — how long do those New Year’s resolutions actually stick around?
For most of us, not very long. Traditional resolutions don’t fit a modern lifestyle. They’re too rigid, too binary — do “x” or you fail.
Life can look radically different day to day. Our goals should be adaptable too.
This year, reframe your resolutions into something more sustainable.
Instead of “lose 20 pounds” or “go to the gym 30 times a week” (kidding), try “take better care of my body”.
This creates flexibility around how your goal shows up day to day. Maybe there’s time for that run — great! Maybe today’s best is a 2 min stretch break between meetings —also great!
See the difference?
No more contorting your life to fit that 45 minute workout into a crazy day… and the stress / guilt when it doesn’t happen.
This approach also makes space for creativity.
Mix it up a little! Taking care of your body can also look like scheduling your annual check-up, planning a hike, or taking 10 minutes to meditate in the morning.
Every day can look different. It’s okay (encouraged, even!) for your approach to your goals to look different too. Keeping your goals alive should be fun and easy, not feel like a chore.
